Proffering statistics like biscuits at lunch time,

I swear most times I’m awaiting the punchline,

Politicians sound punch drunk before tea time,

May never have felt the crunch hunched up in the lunch line,

But some know more about gun crime,

Than most of the inmates locked up for some time,

Longer than any minister gets to run prime,

Even Optimus would not be optimistic,

Reading the state of the system we’ve built,

Listen, freedom isn’t free, it’s the cost of the liberty,

We’ve been so quick to switch for some slick shit,

It’s not mystical, it’s reciprocal,

And it involves you and me, so please,

Will you join with the chorus, you can ignore us,

And get lost in a sea of apathy,

Or choose to remember you’re free.

That benefit the rich, but mock the poor,

To exercise discretion when making decisions,

Every single one of which influences our position,

As an individual, as well as a component of the composition,

Instead of interpreting derision,

Nurturing the need for protection from opponents,

The onus is on us to honour and respect one another,

As living organisms, sisters and brothers,

Haters and lovers, you can hate us or love us,

Just don’t distrust us.
